The NETWORK MANAGEMENT PROFESSIONALS EMAIL DATABASE, a segment of the Midrange Professionals Database, consists of management-level computer network professionals. The network manager is the person in a company who manages a communications network and is responsible for its efficient operation. Responsibilities include network security, installing new applications, distributing software upgrades, monitoring daily activity, enforcing licensing agreements, diagnosing problems, gathering statistics for administration and fine tuning, developing a storage management program and providing for routine backups. This database consists of the managers of these functions in their companies. The Midrange Professionals Database is one of the largest high tech databases of its kind. This database was first started in 1990, and originally tracked companies that used various midrange systems. Today it has been expanded to include users of newer technologies - Windows 2000 and UNIX platforms - as well as the AS/400 (iSeries).
The NETWORK MANAGEMENT PROFESSIONALS EMAIL DATABASE consists of individuals that have indicated a willingness to receive future Email notifications of product announcements, specials or service updates of a computing or networking product. Each of the contacts on the database that had an Email address was sent at least one unsolicited Email message, from one or more high tech companies (one of Midrange Professionals' pooling partners), which provided a link to a registration web site that offered the following statement at the end: "Your registration data will be kept confidential unless you would like to receive periodic Email regarding: Computing or Networking news and offers: Yes or No." Only those recipients that answered "Yes" for this question are considered to be "permission based" and are made available to other marketers through this database. Since these individuals may have permission based in at a site other than that of Midrange Professionals, the list is considered third-party permission based. Every Email transmission contains a header statement that reminds the individual of how they got on the list and that the Email is not unsolicited. Due to various Internet factors, 100% of Emails will not always be deliverable, so list owner will provide approximately 10 - 15% more names on each order (at no extra charge), to be used in the event of undeliverable addresses, to insure that the number ordered is the number delivered.
Media: The database is derived from a coalition of major high tech companies as well as Internet driven research methodology. The customer files of these high tech firms are merged and deduped and then enhanced for selectability and verification of data.
